We simply LOVE Christmas at Exeter Cookery School. At the first opportunity, without seeming inappropriately premature, we decked our Grade II Listed cookery school venue with metres and metres of sparkly lights, many of which we rescued from the wedding celebrations of our daughter, and festive decorations. Enter a handsome Christmas tree courtesy of Cotley Farm and things were starting to look a lot like Christmas. With the kitchen looking suitably festive, what better idea than to host a range of Christmas-themed cookery events.
And so, without further ado, we hosted a fun and festive cookery course on how to make the most delicious range of foodie gifts to give to loved ones at Christmas.
Rachel Pinnock, who also teaches our children’s cookery classes, stepped up to the mark to host the cooking course, which was packed with as many inspirational tips and tricks as you can expect from any of our other cooking classes. Much fun was had by all attending, and they went away with some fab gifts for friends and family. The group made lighter than air marshmallow, nutty chocolate Florentines, and even had a go at chocolate dipping the honeycomb that Jim and Rachel had made earlier in the day in true Blue Peter style.
As well as going down a storm with members of the public, our Corporate group experiences have also been inspired by the festive foodie gift making workshop, so as well as featuring on next year’s seasonal treats, we will look to put together a foodie gifts course that can run throughout the year.
