chef with eclairs

After her undergraduate degree in Zoology, Rachel trained at Leiths School of Food and Wine in South West London, where she gained a First-Class Pass and came second highest in her year for practical cookery.

After this she worked in numerous different restaurants and pubs while gaining her Masters in Anthropology of Food. She now splits her time between Exeter – where she is carrying out her PhD in Anthropology (of Food, of course) and working as a tutor and kitchen assistant with Jim, Lucy and Natalie at Exeter Cookery School – and Somerset, where she spends time with her horse and mucking about in wellies.

She also works part time for the SugarSmart campaign to raise awareness of the amount of sugar we consume and is a Guide leader – in short, she is a very busy (and organised) woman.
