How to cook Pasta & Chocolate Fondant


Does your child love to cook, or would you love your child to learn more cooking skills? Following on from our hugely popular children’s cookery classes for children between the ages of 12 and 14, we have another cooking session to inspire young cooks.


On our second half day children’s cookery course for 12-14-year-olds, we will be teaching participants how to cook some delicious home made pasta, made from scratch using fresh local ingredients. Students will make fresh tagliatelle and cook up a sample to serve with a pesto sauce for them to taste. We will talk about other sauces that work well with fresh pasta.


How to Bake


The children will also learn how to make and bake an indulgent chocolate fondant. The temptation of many a Masterchef contestant, we will show you how to get great results making a chocolatey pudding with requisite gooey inside that oozes out when you cut through the pudding.


There will be time for the children to eat their puddings, but anything that is not eaten during the cookery course will be taken home for children to share with their family.

Techniques learnt:

  • Making fresh pasta
  • Kneading pasta dough
  • Putting pasta dough through a pasta rolling machine to the required thickness
  • Chocolate cookery
  • Whisking egg whites
  • Melting chocolate over a bain marie
  • baking Chocolate Fondants to get that all-important gooey centre
  • Dessert / pudding cookery
